WILLIS TOWER TENANT ROSTER GROWS WITH NEW MOLEX OFFICE, BRINGING BUILDING OCCUPANCY RATE TO 95 PERCENT

CHICAGO, DECEMBER 13, 2018 – Today, EQ Office, the U.S. office portfolio company wholly owned by Blackstone’s real estate funds, announced Molex, a globally recognized provider of electronic solutions, has opened an office in Chicago’s iconic Willis Tower.

Molex is a world-class manufacturer of electronic, electrical and fiber optic interconnection systems with customers in a variety of industries including datacom, consumer electronics, automotive, industrial and medical, among others. With a growing business and rapidly expanding team, the company has opened its fifth location in Illinois following a search for a larger space with first-class amenities that would appeal to today’s workforce.

The Molex location opened in August 2018 and includes a 20,000 square-foot office with capacity for 110 employees. The newly renovated space on the building’s 57th floor features modern décor and sprawling views of the Chicago skyline.

Willis Tower is currently undergoing a $500 million renovation plan, the biggest restorative transformation project in the building’s 43-year history. This will include the addition of Catalog, a five-story dining, retail and immersive-entertainment experience, located at the base of Willis Tower. Catalog is part of the more than 300,000 square feet of new retail, dining and entertainment space that will include new dining options like Shake Shack and Sweetgreen, along with 150,000 square feet of new space for tenant use within the Tower and a 30,000 square feet deck and garden.
